Canvey Hypnotherapy
About

Hello my name is Gary Dukelow

A professionally trained and qualified Analytical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist

based in

Canvey Island, Essex

A little background

I spent most of the 90's working within the graphic design industry.

Since 2000 I have been working in medicine within the NHS.

This role has been on the front line of emergency medicine.

This has given me a unique window in which to view human responses to illness, trauma, disease, and unfortunately impending death.

When i first entered the world of medicine i made some basic  mistakes, i would inadvertently give away a patients prognosis with a frown a sigh a deep intake of breath   or a badly thought out statement. i quickly realised that these simple errors were having an immediate negative impact on the patient.

(i had no training in hypnosis or suggestion at this point)

I believe these experiences ignited my interest in the power  of the mind and the power of suggestion.

i began to carefully word my findings or prognosis as a positive suggestion.

For ethical reasons i am not at liberty to give any accounts of these cases, i can only say i have noticed a dramatic response to both negative and positive suggestions.

after some time in medicine i suffered a sports injury a serious pelvic injury sustained whilst participating in sport (judo).

After years of suffering numerous X rays, and seeing physiotherapists, doctors and 5 years of virtual inactivity, i finally started to look for inspiration and motivation.

This led me to a seminar (N.L.P) in london by Paul Mckenna (TV Hypnotist and Therapist) Whilst at this seminar i realised i had been concentrating all my energies into negative thought processes.

I would wake each morning and check the level of my back pain i would tell myself that i would never be able to run or take part in judo or any other sport again. I felt sorry for myself spiraling daily into an injury and sports related depression.

During this seminar i learned some basic positive goal setting techniques backed up by nlp and suggestion based Hypnosis.

after that day i had a goal with the experiences i have had  personally (recovery from injury) and through patient outcomes this  has led me to learn about and become a HYPNOTHERAPIST.

Today at the age of 46 i no longer have any pelvic injury or back pain.

I now train, compete and coach judo in London. The depression i once had regarding my physical condition has been replaced with a new healthy and positive outlook.

my new goal is to combine my medical insights , sport and hypnotherapy experience to,

 maximise your full potential.
